Dave Head Mathematics

Hello, I am Mr. Head and I teach Mathematics at Gainesville HIgh School.  I have been teaching here for 12 or so years.  This year I am teaching Math II for the fall and in the spring, I will teach Math III, Math IV, and AP Statistics.  The Math series are designed to be taught in order and as building blocks.  That means that you need to know the material that was taught in Math I to be successful in Math II.  Then you need to know the material that was taught in Math I and II to be successful in Math III.  Keeping notes in class and in between the classes, Math I and Math II for example, will give you a head start in the next class.  It is better to review your own notes to refresh your memory than relying on other students or teachers.

I can be reached via email at [email protected].

Take advantage of all of your goals study for each subject, work on your most difficult one first then the easiest last!  Plan ahead; one week, one month, even one year.  Know where you are going then think and plan on how to get there.  You can always adjust your plan and be less stressed than react and be stressed!

Look at the following pages for my syllabus for the following classes: Math II, Math III, Math IV, and AP Statistics.

Helpful website for Math I, II, III, and IV is the Georgia Department of Education site:  www.doe.k12.ga.us
You can surf it to find information that will help you with the concepts and give you helpful hints on taking the End of Course Test (EOCT) for Math I and Math II. Also, the Graduation Test for all subjects.

AP Statistics

Helpful website for AP Statistics is the College Board site:  www.apcentral.collegeboard.com
You can use it to find useful information to grasp the material better and look at previous AP Exams.

An interesting website is the following:  www-history.mcs.st-and.ac.uk  It has facts on mathematicians and different topics on mathematics.  See what the Devil's Curve or Neile's Parabola looks like!  There are many, many more, just look and discover.
